Musabyimana (ICTR-01-62)

Died before Trial: 24 January 2003

Samuel Musabyimana, former Bishop of the Anglican Church in Shyogwe Diocese in Gitarama Prefecture, was indicted for his alleged role in facilitating killings that occurred at Shoyogwe Diocese. The prosecution charged Musabyimana with genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, and extermination as a crime against humanity. In 2003, Musabyimana died in detention before his trial began.
