Adam Nord is an Associate Field Officer (Protection) at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Bangladesh. Prior to this role, he was the Program Manager in the Africa Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) Rule of Law Initiative (ROLI). He had previously served as the Director of International Advocacy at the International Justice Resource Center and was based in Johannesburg, South Africa. As the Lobbying and Engagement Manager at CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, he sought to influence high-level decision makers with local voices from civil society. Adam joined the IJRC Board of Directors in 2011.
Adam has years of experience in human rights and civil society issues working with local organizations in Sri Lanka and Jerusalem as well as with international and UN bodies in Switzerland and Egypt. Adam holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the State Bar of New York. Adam also travels extensively both for work and personal interests.
