Helen Halldorsson joined the International Justice Resource Center as a law fellow in September 2016. She received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Texas International Law Journal. She received her B.A. in government and sociology with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
During law school, Helen participated in both the Human Rights and Environmental Law clinics. As a student in the Human Rights Clinic, Helen worked with local government agencies and international bodies to address the issue of extreme heat in Texas prisons. As a member of the Environmental Law Clinic, she worked to rectify the contamination of a reservoir and canal system in the Lower Rio Grande Valley where many low-income residents catch fish as their primary source of food.
Prior to joining IJRC, Helen served as a law clerk at the Department of Homeland Security in the Chief Counsel’s Office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and as a corporate law clerk at Kastner Huggins Reddien Gravelle LLP in Austin.
Helen is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
