Nia Freeman joined the International Justice Resource Center as a law fellow in 2016. She received her B.A. in business from San Jose State University with a minor in political science. While attending San Jose State University, Nia was a four-year scholar-athlete on the Division I Women’s Volleyball Team.
Nia obtained her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and also earned a certificate in International Comparative Law. While attending law school, Nia volunteered for programs serving underprivileged and low income families. She also interned with Human Rights Watch.
After graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law, Nia relocated to Costa Rica where she volunteered for a non-profit that addressed property rights issues and other concerns that affected the communities residing in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica.
Nia is a licensed California attorney and she enjoys boxing, traveling, and salsa dancing in her free time.
