Tessa Walker joined the International Justice Resource Center as a law fellow in 2013. She received a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and B.A. in political science and international studies with a focus on politics and diplomacy from Texas A&M University. During law school, Tessa participated in the International Human Rights Clinic. As a member of the clinic, she conducted researched and co-authored two reports about issues facing female inmates domestically and abroad and represented a client seeking relief under the Convention Against Torture in Immigration Court. While at the University of Chicago, Tessa served on the Board of the Human Rights Law Society and competed in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. She has previously served as a law clerk at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General and the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development.
