Campaign 501: Become 1 of 501 to Support IJRC's Efforts to Empower Rights Defenders

To celebrate its launch as a public charity, IJRC is conducting Campaign 501 to gain 501 supporters over the next 50 days, ending December 10 (Human Rights Day).  Please make a contribution today; no amount is too small.  Every dollar raised will help us inform, advise and support human rights defenders.

The International Justice Resource Center (ijrcenter.org) is a new non-profit focused on empowering social justice advocates around the world by ensuring they have access to an underutilized set of tools: international human rights law and the bodies that enforce it.  By creating a one-stop online resource hub, along with trainings and other support, IJRC addresses a lack of awareness and capacity that has prevented many attorneys and other advocates from seeking the protections offered by international law.  In essence, IJRC aims to democratize access to human rights information and mechanisms, so that advocates’ efforts to educate their communities, represent victims seeking redress, and campaign for change have as positive and powerful an impact as possible.

Some of IJRC’s upcoming projects include a how-to video on advocacy before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, research and how-to guides on human rights issues and institutions, an online tool to help activists identify where to bring human rights complaints, and trainings for grassroots advocates.

Contributions are now tax-deductible in the United States, thanks for IJRC’s new 501(c)(3) status.

You can find IJRC on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ijrcenter) and on Twitter (@ijrcenter).

Please show your support for IJRC’s mission by making a contribution today.
