Citlalli Ochoa joined the International Justice Resource Center as an International Human Rights Law Fellow in September 2016. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law.
Her life experiences living internationally, volunteering, and academics reinforced her plans to pursue a career in international human rights litigation and advocacy. Prior to joining IJRC, Citlalli externed at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights with the Office of the Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression, primarily focusing on whistleblower protections and concentration of media ownership.
During law school, Citlalli participated in the International Justice Clinic where she researched and analyzed Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as the Human Rights Clinic where she focused on domestic Alien Tort Statute litigation. She was also a founding board member of the UC Irvine Journal of International, Transnational, and Comparative Law and Lead Article Editor & Notes Editor of the UC Irvine Law Review.
Citlalli is admitted to the State Bar of California.
